The proposed paper aims to seek a comparative study of the two works in the light of feminism. It illustrates various instances where the two writers have articulated similar notion in a different way. It correlates the two works in retelling an old story through a feminist lens. It analyses how the inner workings of Sita are reflected through her own voice. Nandini Sahu and Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni are female writers and thus, they have delineated the character of Sita from their perspectives. Was Sita a character or a goddess or a divine being or she is an immortal saga of the tale of endurance who single-handedly challenged the patriarchal norms and took a stand for every woman? She was an emblem of purity, motherhood, chastity, and willpower who was humiliated by the societal norms coded by the patriarchal society. The notes of similitude are taken into cognisance in the Sita by Nandini Sahu and The Forest of Enchantments by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.
