Call for Editorial Board Applications (2026–2029)

Since its inception in 2010, The Criterion has remained a cornerstone of scholarly debate in English Literature, Linguistics, and Humanities. As we enter our 17th year of continuous publication, we are reconstituting our editorial board to reflect the evolving multidisciplinary landscape of global research.

We invite distinguished scholars, researchers, and academicians to join our editorial board for the 2026–2029 cycle and contribute to shaping the future of literary and linguistic scholarship.

Editorial Board Roles & Responsibilities

Advisory Board Members

  • Provide strategic guidance on journal direction and policies
  • Enhance the journal’s academic reputation through association
  • Recommend potential reviewers and authors
  • No mandatory reviewing commitments

Editorial Board Members

  • Review 3-6 manuscripts per year in your area of expertise
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to authors
  • Contribute to editorial decision-making processes
  • Promote the journal within your academic network
  • Suggest special issue themes and guest editors

Subject Editors

  • Oversee submissions in specific subject areas
  • Identify and recruit qualified reviewers
  • Make preliminary editorial recommendations
  • Coordinate special issues in your specialization
  • Higher level of engagement (6-10 manuscripts/year)

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualification

PhD or terminal degree in English, Linguistics, or related field

Professional Standing

Full-time faculty position at a recognized university or college

Research Record

Demonstrated publication track record in peer-reviewed journals

We particularly welcome applications from scholars with expertise in emerging areas such as digital humanities, environmental humanities, postcolonial ecocriticism, world literature, and contemporary literary theory.

Successful applicants will be notified by March 15, 2026, with appointments effective from April 1, 2026.
